Letter from a Teacher

Bennett’s Village

Dear Whomever This May Concern,

I am an Early Childhood Special Educator in Albemarle County Public Schools and I fully support the funding and construction of an inclusive playground in Charlottesville. I would absolutely bring my future classes to this playground on field trips, as well as utilize it for family events and encourage parents to bring their children of all abilities to this park for gross motor and inclusive social experiences. In the past, I have actually bussed my class all the way to Harrisonburg in order to visit their inclusive playground called, The Dream Come True Playground. As such a large and diverse community, I think it is surprising that we don’t already have an intentionally inclusive playground for our children and hope with my whole heart that this project is funded. Please feel free to contact me for any further testimonials or information that would be helpful in this endeavor.

Sincerely,

Valerie Parks
