Our mission	Working with the community to conserve the Rivanna River and its tributaries through monitoring, restoration, education, and advocacy.

Opportunities	Bacteria Water Quality Monitoring Collect and test water samples for E. Coli and turbidity. Weekly, Monthly Adults Individuals, Groups (2-10) Indoor On-site Weekdays River Stewards/River Guardians Paddle along with RCA’s River Stewards to help with cleanup and outreach efforts or adopt a section of the river. Visually inspect the river, remove trash, record wildlife sightings, and share information with river users. Occasional, Monthly Adults Individuals, Groups (2-10) Physical, Outdoor None Weekdays, Evenings, Weekends Benthic Water Quality Monitoring Collect, sort, and identify benthic macroinvertebrates (bottom-dwelling bugs). Identify some bugs in the lab. Ongoing in Spring and fall. Monitoring one site usually takes 2-4 hours. Lab work is flexible. Weekly, Monthly Adults Individuals, Groups (2-10) Indoor, Outdoor Formal, Skilled Weekdays Education Assist with watershed education programs. Educate school children and community about water quality and the Rivanna. Monthly Adults Individuals Event support, Indoor On-site Weekdays

About us	The Rivanna Conservation Alliance was established on January 1, 2016 through a merger between the Rivanna Conservation Society and StreamWatch. The Rivanna Conservation Alliance is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit watershed organization created to provide the community with a set of tools and programs specifically designed to help clean and protect the Rivanna River and its tributaries.
