About us | 16 principals, 60 students, and 21 community members working in harmony to provide powerful symphonic music and enriching educational experiences. The Charlottesville Symphony at the University of Virginia is one of Central Virginia’s leading musical ensembles. Exciting Masterworks, Holiday and Pops concerts regularly bring audiences to their feet.Orchestra members also perform at a wide variety of community engagement events and take creative educational programming that inspires audiences of all ages.The Charlottesville Symphony Society is a community organization in support of and in partnership with the Charlottesville Symphony at the University of Virginia. This independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors comprised of community leaders, and managed by a professional staff. It is a member of the League of American Orchestras. |
