Opportunities

Spanish-speaking Assistant

Do you speak Spanish? Do you like planning things and talking to people? Do you work well independently while also feeling like part of a team? Then this could be for you! We are looking for someone to assist our Programs Lead in providing much needed services like English tutoring & GED prep sessions. You would be helping create marketing materials, chatting with people about their experiences in our programs and more. It’s a good mix of creation & conversation. It’s also an ongoing commitment, but is one you can work into a flexible schedule.

Come be part of our volunteer Technology Team! Our tech needs are wide, but you don’t need to know everything about technology to join; who can?!

You might work in a particular tech field like data management, website design, etc. Or you might enjoy figuring out new gadgets and troubleshooting them.

Spanish is NOT necessary and our meeting times are flexible. If you are interested in making a real impact on the development of a non-profit in your community, here’s your chance!

Spanish-Speaking Educators Volunteer for GED Prep Course

Sin Barreras is working to expand the number of direct educational opportunities we provide the local Spanish-speaking immigrant community. The latest endeavor that is in the very beginning stages of development is a GED exam preparation course taught in Spanish. If you are interested in being part of a team that develops this course or you’re interested in being a potential instructor for the course in the not too distant future, please reach out to our Volunteer Coordinator, Chayla Rowley at [email protected].

How you help

We welcome immigrants and connect them with services to meet their basic needs. We also empower and promote self sufficiency through educational programs, immigration assistance, cultural events and advocating for equitable rights.

About us

We envision a society where the essential needs of all its members are met, regardless of immigration status, color, economic class or culture of origin. Through initiatives that promote cultural exchange, immigration support, and educational opportunities, Sin Barreras (Without Barriers) aims to break down barriers, celebrate diversity, and create a brighter, more connected community for all. It was founded in 2012 to help address the barriers Spanish-speaking immigrants faced in accessing essential services.
