How you help Volunteers are always appreciated for numerous projects at our Dharma Center and to help out with special activities.
About us The Jefferson Tibetan Society’s primary function is to provide teaching and meditation practice in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, as exemplified by His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s teachings. Our resident Lama of 25 years, Ven. Geshe Jampel Thardo from Drepung Loseling Monastery passed from our world in September 2008. He demonstrated physical signs of a very high level of spiritual realization at the time of his passing and we are so grateful for all the guidance he provided to our sangha and the central Virginia community. As it was Geshe-la’s wish for our Dharma center to continue to function as a teaching & practice center, the Saturday Buddhist Study Series, as well as other activities and events are offered. You may also wish to learn more about our special events and annual events.
