Starting Again in January 2023: Every Friday, volunteers make 75 meals – a sandwich, chips, fresh fruit, veggies with ranch dressing, and a cookie or other dessert – to  take to UVA Children’s Hospital. We need folks here from 8 a.m. to around 9:30 a.m to ensure that we can get everything complete and to…

We need volunteers to pick up weekly donations from local businesses that donate food to the House. We currently have Monday volunteers but need Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday volunteers. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday pickups from Wawa are available right now. The Wawa is the one on Pantops (820 Pantops Cor Wy – 434-485-0344) and…

One of our most impactful programs is “Meals from the Heart.” Businesses, groups, families, individuals and organizations come to the House and make a meal for our families. HOWS Project holds its own events and attends quite a few others throughout the year. We often have a table set up with HOWS literature, merchandise, and giveaways! We love when passionate HOWS folks tend our table and educate passers-by about all our good deeds!
