CAT needs volunteers to help us find applicable grant opportunities as well as Grant Writers to manage the application processes.
CAT needs volunteers to listen to and process voicemails by entering them into our Request for Assistance spreadsheet log for processing. This can be done 100% remotely, and the expected time commitment is about one hour per week, with a total estimate of about 4-5 hours per month.
CAT is in need of a person or committee to help organize events and campaigns to raise money and other kinds of donations (such as cat food/supplies).
CAT does a monthly food drive at one of the local pet stores on the first Saturday of each month from 10am-2pm, with three 2-hour volunteer shifts. This is a tabling event where we collect food or monetary donations and share information/answer questions about CAT that any store visitors may have.
CAT is in need of a Marketing and Communications specialist to manage marketing strategy, to help circulate CAT needs and news to local media outlets, as well as assistance crafting particular media releases, and other public relations activities.
We are excited to once again sponsor the Hospitality Cart Program at UVA Children’s Hospital. Since this is at the Medical Center, we work with UVA Volunteer Services to staff this one and have to go through their volunteer process to get approved to work on the pediatric floors. Be it promotional items, photos, data entry, dog-house building, fencing, media, etc. etc., our Core Volunteers who hold leadership positions are always looking for assistance to help them do the best they can for the animals we serve. Teamwork!
