The Charlottesville Symphony Society is happy to receive gently used orchestral instruments. We will pay for minor repairs, then donate them to underserved children or school music programs in the orchestra’s 11-county service area.
Please contact Director of Youth Education Elizabeth Roberts at [email protected] or call the Symphony office, (434) 924-3139.
Don’t have a used instrument, but want to help? Tax-deductible charitable contributions underwrite refurbishment costs. Checks payable to the Charlottesville Symphony Society can be mailed to:

We are always in need of crafting supplies and basic first aid supplies, but there are also those odd little things and a few somewhat outrageous things that we keep on our wish list for those who want to support us in a different way. Help support us here.
We can always use donations of supplies!
You can find an updated list of needed items on our Amazon Wishlist (link below), which you may order through Amazon or pick up at any local stores.
Donations of supplies are always appreciated. They are needed to help with animal care as well as our administrative needs.
Shop on your own or shop conveniently online at Amazon (View our Amazon Wish Lists at the links.) You can also help by using Amazon Smile and designating Animal Care Assistance Program as your charity of choice! We've made it easy for you, just click the Amazon Smile logo below.
Whether it’s clothing, shoes, and toiletries, oritems like backpacks and sleeping bags, our guests are always in need. We have community partners who offer clothing to PACEM’s guests for free (see below). Both will gladly accept your donation and your help with distribution.
As a nonprofit, our programs are always in need of supplies! We’d love to partner with you to hold a supply drive for kids. Check out our ongoing wishlist needs below!

The Bridge is in need of vehicles. You can donate your old vehicle, in any condition, to the Bridge. The Bridge uses the vehicles in the auto mechanic and body shop to teach the students how to diagnose and repair problems, perform regular maintenance, and how to clean and detail the vehicle.
Garden Guides are a group of volunteers who offer tours of the Garden site and provide information about our future plans for the Garden to the public. To be a Garden Guide, we ask that you be reliable, outgoing, and friendly, and have your own transportation.
The process of becoming a Garden Guide requires three one-hour training sessions held on three consecutive weeks. During Garden Guide training, volunteers will be provided with talking points and FAQs about the Garden, and given coaching and time to practice during these sessions.
After “graduating” from the training sessions, Garden Guides work together in teams of two, (not always with the same person). Public tours are currently offered on the 1st Saturdays of the month at 9:00 from April through November, but additional tours may be added in the Fall.
Please contact me at [email protected] if you are interested in training to become a Garden Guide, or if you have any questions. Thanks again for being a BGP volunteer, your interest and support are truly appreciated!

As we continue to grow, we are seeking nice quality art supplies and fixtures for our community studio.
With the right tools in hand, our participants will gain confidence, emotional awareness and technical knowledge.
With your help, we can provide a creative space devoid of judgement where individuals can learn about themselves and the reasons behind their creative choices.
International Neighbors currently has a car request list of 107 individuals. Our clients are faced with exorbitant expenses, beginning with repaying the U.S. Government for their family's airline costs. This hefty bill ($9,000 for a refugee family of 9 people to be resettled to America from Uganda) coupled with Charlottesville's outrageous cost of living ($1,200 for a 2 bedroom 1 bath apartment) with only minimum wage employment opportunities makes car ownership almost impossible.
The Ronald McDonald House of Charlottesville Wish List is comprised of items that are needed to keep the House running and our families supplied with necessities. We welcome contributions from individuals, groups, families, and all those who want to support the families staying at the RMHC Charlottesville while their children face health issues. We especially appreciate volunteers organizing a Wish List Drive to collect a large volume of goods from the community. It’s a meaningful event where a group of any size, any age, can gain experience in community outreach AND help RMHC Charlottesville’s families in a significant way. For more information, please email Melissa Robertson at [email protected] or call 434-295-1885.
