HOWS Project was created in 2008 to address an overlooked need to help improve the lives and well-being of outside dogs in Charlottesville and surrounding counties.

To rescue, train, place, and register unwanted animals to participate in therapy work, with an emphasis on special needs animals.

To enhance the quality of life through the Stewardship of our Commonwealth’s urban and community trees.

To provide advocacy, resources and education for individuals who would like to partner with a service dog and the community that wants more information about service dogs.

To provide care for thousands of animals through direct financial gifts to rescue organizations, pet sanctuaries, and SPCA’s.

Rescue domestic animals in Fluvanna County, Virginia from cruelty, neglect, and abandonment and to place them in good, loving, permanent homes.
