There are many ways for individuals of all ages to volunteer time and talent, including as a volunteer for one-time events such as community events or work days, in the woods as a Mentor-in-Training, on one of our Board Committees or as a Board Member.

CAT is in need of a person or committee to help organize events and campaigns to raise money and other kinds of donations (such as cat food/supplies).

CAT is celebrating its 5th anniversary this year by holding a “Furball Fair” at Castle Hill Cider on May 7th, from 12-4PM. This is our largest event of the year, and we need help with event setup from 10am-12pm and tear-down from 3:45-5:15pm. (Items to be setup/tore-down include: tables, chairs, tents, and decorations.)

Starting Again in January 2023: Every Friday, volunteers make 75 meals – a sandwich, chips, fresh fruit, veggies with ranch dressing, and a cookie or other dessert – to  take to UVA Children’s Hospital. We also, on occasion, have surrendered HOWS dogs in need of short-term or long-term foster before being moved on to a rescue…

CAYA has a long rewarding relationship with its volunteers. Volunteer support areas include: summer camp volunteers, mentorship, prison ministry, disaster relief, feed our homeless community, and donation processing.
